STUDENT SERVICES - STUDENT MINISTRY

WARNING!
YOUR INVOLVEMENT IN STUDENT MINISTRY COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE !

Student Ministry is about:

  • having a relationship with Christ
  • a willingness to share your faith with other teens
  • consistent commitment to meetings
  • a commitment to daily prayer
  • a lifestyle free from serious wrong-doing
  • Student Ministers are not perfect people but they are leaders. With that leadership comes a responsibility to be a consistent role model. Peer Ministers refrain from the use of alcohol, drugs, sex, profanity, negative talk and gossip
  • supporting the mission of St. Francis High School in word and deed

Being a Student Minister is a commitment to live the talk and walk with Christ by loving God and loving others. People will be watching and following YOU!

Meetings:

  • Student Ministers must commit to Fridays before school, from 6:30-7:30am
  • Meetings will include leadership training, prayer, small faith groups, planning service, worship and outreach events for SFHS community
  • Consistent attendance is essential to building community
    • Arrive on time and stay until the end
    • Please make travel arrangements to school with this in mind
    • Inconsistent attendance and tardies will be cause for removal from the team
  • Student Ministers must attend the summer Student Ministry overnight, August 18-19th at Timber-lee Camp ($100) and a possible second overnight during second semester.
  • Senior Student Ministers will be expected to help with the Freshmen Retreat, Weds. October 17 th from 7:15-12:00. (Sophomore Retreat date is TBA and some Student Ministers will be invited to help facilitate.)
  • Read and sign the Lifestyle commitment. Unbecoming behavior will be cause for removal.
