FINANCIAL AID | SCHOLARSHIPS | APPLICATION PROCESS Thanks to a host of generous donors, last year alone we awarded more than $120,000.00 in scholarships. Many of the students who receive scholarships would not have had the opportunity to attend St. Francis without assistance. Applications are available and are due back to us by March 1st. If you feel you qualify for more than one scholarship, then you may submit more than one application. All applications must be complete. The scholarships available are:

Top Incoming Freshman Scholarship Information WITH Application(pdf) | Application only Scholarship Opportunities ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS: Spartan Scholars Award Ten $2,000 non-renewable scholarships available for students with the top ten test scores on the Criteria:
Principal’s Academic Scholarship A $1,500 renewable scholarship is available for an incoming freshman based on academic excellence. Criteria:
This scholarship may be renewed each year provided the scholarship recipient maintains at least a 3.0 G.P.A. and exhibits positive behavior while attending St. Francis. Kay Finn Memorial Scholarship A $1,500 renewable scholarship is available for an incoming freshman based on academic excellence in memory of Kay Finn, a long-time, dedicated SFHS staff member. Criteria:
This scholarship may be renewed each year provided the scholarship recipient maintains at least a 3.0 G.P.A. and exhibits positive behavior while attending St. Francis. NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS: President's Scholarship The President’s Scholarship is a need-based scholarship. Students that qualify for financial aid through the Diocese of Joliet may be awarded the President's Scholarship. This scholarship may be renewed each year provided the scholarship recipient is an active participant in co-curricular activities and exhibits positive behavior while attending St. Francis. (There is no application for this scholarship.) The Shaw Family Scholarship A full tuition renewable scholarship, established by the Shaw Family, given to one incoming freshman. Criteria:
Douglas P. Colbeth & Margaret R. Colbeth Endowed Scholarship A $2,500 renewable scholarship, established by the Colbeth family, is available for an incoming freshman. Criteria:
This scholarship may be renewed each year provided the scholarship recipient maintains at least a 3.0 G.P.A. and exhibits positive behavior while attending St. Francis. Margaret (Meg) Webb Memorial Scholarship A $2,500 renewable scholarship established by Greg Webb in memory of his sister will be given to one incoming freshman girl. Criteria:
Alumni Association Scholarship Multiple $2,200 renewable scholarships given each year by the Alumni Association to incoming freshmen who are the child/grandchild of a St. Francis alumnus/alumna. Criteria:
This scholarship may be renewed each year provided the scholarship recipient maintains at least a 3.0 G.P.A. and exhibits involvement and positive behavior while attending St. Francis. The Virtue Family Scholarship A $1000 renewable scholarship established by the Patrick Virtue Family. Criteria:
Ronald ’65 & Theresa Franklin ’67 Kuhn Alumni Scholarship A $1,000 non-renewable scholarship given to one incoming freshman who is a son/daughter of an alumnus/alumna. Criteria:
Ron ’65 & Theresa Franklin ’67 Kuhn Academic/Leadership Scholarship A $1,000 non-renewable scholarship to be given to one incoming freshman. Criteria:
Rev. Stanislaus Gryga Memorial Scholarship A $750 non-renewable scholarship, established in honor of Rev. Stanislaus Gryga, to be given to one incoming freshman. Criteria:
St. Petronille Scholarship A $2000 non-renewable scholarship, established by a gift from the Ryan family. Criteria:
Top Kazma Family Scholarships - Available through the Diocese of Joliet The Kazma Family Foundation will be providing a four-year renewable scholarship to students entering any of the Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Joliet. Twenty-five students will be selected based on financial need. All incoming freshmen are encouraged to apply. Top SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS Directions:
1. Parents: In order to help us determine the financial need, we ask that you create an application for financial aid at www.factstuitionaid.com. All of this information will be held in the strictest confidence (not necessary for those applying for the Principal's Academic Scholarship and/or the Kay Finn Memorial Scholarship). 2. Completed application form 3. Grade school academic records for grades 6th, 7th and first semester of 8 th grade. 4. Standardized test scores including high school entrance exam 5. Two letters of recommendation from adults who have influenced his/her life spiritually, academically or socially (If you are applying for the Dunlea Family Scholarship or the Jimmy Doumos Scholarship on of the letters of recommendation must be from a teacher confirming the applicants commitment to learning. If you are applying for the Dunlea Family Scholarship, please include an explanation of how you have worked through a learning or life challenge). 6. A list of co-curricular activities including service during 6th, 7th and 8th grades. (Please note any leadership roles i.e. captain, president, etc.). 7. Essays 8.
