International Club
Bringing the World to SFHS!
Come join us! International Club offers you a great way to learn about other cultures as well as an opportunity to use the language skills you have obtained in class in real life settings!
We meet in rm 1318 on the first Thursday of the month
What will we do this year???
October 20th
Experiencing French Culture and Pastries at Suzette’s Creperie in Wheaton.
November 17th
Celebrating our American Culture by having a traditional Thanksgiving Feast.
December 12th Come Celebrate the Feast of the Patron Saint of the Americas, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Experience the devotion that the Mexican People feel for our “Virgencita.”
January
Celebrate Chinese New Year with a trip to Chicago’s China Town. We will explore then eat at a traditional restaurant.
February
Help us Celebrate International Week here at SFHS!
March 15th
It’s time for Mardi Gras.! Come decorate your own Mardi Gras Mask all while we watch The Princess and The Frog!
April 3rd
We will go see the Hispanic Flamenco Ballet in Joliet. We will enjoy the rich cultural heritage of Spain as interpreted through the music and dance of the Flamenco!
May 10th
Share your heritage with us in an International Potluck Dinner. Whether you want to bring some Irish Soda Bread, or some Italian canolis or maybe you have always wanted to try that recipe your grandmother gave you from the old country? This is your chance to bring it to life!
