Course Description

The Web Design class teaches students how to create web pages, web sites, and some basic graphic design skills. They use Macromedia Dreamweaver to create the web pages, and Macromedia Fireworks to create the original artwork for their sites.

In addition to the web presentation skills, the students learn basic graphic design. This includes drawing their own artwork, modifying photographs, and combining these elements into graphics that are used on their web sites.

Instead of a final exam, there is a final project. This is a 5 page web site that the student designs and creates. Typical sites include a student or family business site, a club or fan site, a family site, or a site that will be used on the school web site.

Good candidates for the Web Design class will have taken the computers class and enjoy working with computers, and enjoy being creative. Art skills are not required, but do help.
