Course Description

The Visual Basic Programming class shows the students how to do basic Windows programming using Visual Basic. We use Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 to create and run the programs which are Windows applications.

Daily class work consists of learning a programming concept and then applying it by writing a program. Over the course of the semester, the students will have compiled a notebook with explanations of programming terms, and a set of working programs that they have written.

Instead of a final exam, there is a two week final project. This allows the student to demonstrate they can use programming to design and create an application. This year's project was a video game that the student created, including the characters that they designed using Macromedia Fireworks.

Good candidates for the Visual Basic Class will have taken the Computers class, have good logic skills, and meet the grade requirement.
